Description
LET'S COME TOGETHER FOR Youthopia!! Greetings from Pravah & CYC Family! It is our immense pleasure to invite you to 'Youthopia - A Journey from Discontent to Social Hope’. Let’s come together on 16th September for an evening of chai, charcha, music and celebration! This September we at PRAVAH enter our 25th year of being and building youth leadership for Social Change. We thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with you - our friends and co-voyagers who have been an integral part of our journey thus far - and rediscover the feeling of social hope that has brought and bound us together. In times of increasing discontent, when the world grapples with various forms of exclusion and violence, our young volunteers and social entrepreneurs stand as flag bearers of hope, and positive social change. It is today more than ever before, that youth leadership stands its best chance of the creation of a better world for everyone. It is today, that we need to invest in youth leadership, more than ever before. Infused with infectious energy there is a lot in the space to look out for:   Come face to face with our young brigade who are the stars of the evening. Hear from them the stories of self to society, changed lives, and their journeys from discontent to hope coming to life  Get a chance to strike conversations with the mentors, funders, and other civil society leaders Cultural performances by PRAVAH’s volunteers and social entrepreneurs Music Performance by Kabir Café Ideathon: put your best idea forward and hear different minds coming together to discuss youth and social hope     Youthopia celebrates 14 Changeloomers, 46 SMILErs, their passion, vision, journey, and the change that they have been able to stimulate. Hailing from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, our young leaders have worked at organizations in Maharashtra, Delhi, Assam, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh etc. addressing social issues of gender, education, identity, livelihood, youth development, communal harmony, caste-based exclusion, and so on. It is time the stories of lives touched and transformed be told to the world with joy! SMILE Programme an inside-out ‘refl-active’ learning & leadership journey and rural volunteering in-turn-ship where young people are placed with grassroots organizations working on diverse social issues, facilitated by Pravah through workshops and mentoring support. The programme is supported by Misereor.   Changelooms is an inside-out learning and leadership journey for social entrepreneurs that encourages, recognizes, and supports them to achieve their potential to lead social change initiatives with enhanced impact.. The programme is designed and implemented by PRAVAH and ComMutiny - The Youth Collective and supported by Fossil Foundation, Oracle, Centre for Catalysing Change (C3).     The Co-Creators Pravah is a Delhi based non-profit organisation that was formed in 1993 with the mission to prevent social conflicts. We work primarily with youth on developing personal leadership and social responsibility through design and delivery of innovative programmes with diverse groups across the country. We also train educators, support youth led initiatives, incubate youth centric organisations and partner with existing youth organisations. ComMutiny - The Youth Collective (CYC) is a trust incubated by Pravah and Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT) in 2008 as a collective of like-minded professionals and social organisations to engage in media advocacy for youth development and promote the rights of young people for participation, development and leadership. ComMutiny represents the ‘mutiny’ within that evolves when we work deeply in diverse communities. A collective of nearly 50 youth led and youth engaging organizations CYC works in collaboration to promote youth leadership by creating what we call ‘5th Spaces’ across the country. Pravah and CYC have so far impacted 150,000 youth extensively and have worked intensively with over 50,000 young leaders. Through our work we have impacted issues like education, sexual and reproductive health, environment & sustainability, social inclusion, gender-based violence and employability.
