Tableau User Group meeting is happening almost after a year's gap. We conducted our last TUG meeting in Nov 2016. This time, we found a bigger hall that can accommodate 100+ people.  We will start with a networking session from 10 to 1030 AM during which coffee/tea will be served. Presentations will start at 1030 AM.  Sessions Planned: 1. Cognitive Mind of Analytics – Why Visualize Data by Prashant Momaya from Tableau Software - 10:30 AM - 11:15 AM (30 min session + 15 min for questions) Seeing and understanding data is richer and deeper than creating a collection of queries, dashboards, and workbooks. Prashant will attempt to answer the following questions in the presentation. How do visual and cognitive science explain what makes data visualization so deeply satisfying? Why does a collection of bars, lines, colors, and boxes become surprisingly powerful and meaningful? How does fluid interaction with data views multiply our intelligence? How do visualization, machine learning and natural language converge to augment our curiosity about the data? 2. Big Data & Tableau by Basheer Ahamded from AC Nielsen 11:15 AM - 12 PM (30 min session +15 min for questions) There is a big hype about Big data and its related technologies. Basheer will attempt to answer the following questions: What is Big Data? Why do we need Big Data?  What are the technologies behind Big Data? What are the usecases where Big Data technologies have proven their value? How does Data Visualization/Tableau fit into Big Data? 3. What is the Right Chart? - Introduction to the "5 Messages Framework"  by Siraj Samsudeen from BIsqaured Consulting - 12 PM to 12:30 PM (10 min session + 20 min for questions) In this session, Siraj Samsudeen, Chennai TUG organizer, will present "5-Message Framework" which will tackle a very imporant question a lot of people ask - "How do I pick the right chart?". Tableau's brilliant Show Me algorithm essentially answers that question for people who are new to the world of data visualization. However, it is good to know some principles that are behind Show Me - the generic principles that are applicable everywhere.   4. What Difference did Tableau make in our life?  - 12:30 PM - 1 PM In this session, 2 or 3 Tableau users will present their story of how Tableau has helped them in their business. This session is also open to any user to talk - if you want to pressent your story, please contact the Organizer.  5. Open Q & A Session on Tableau & Networking - 1 PM to 1:30 PM Bring any question you have on Data Visualization and we will try to answer them. We will also encourage the experienced users in the audience to share their perspectives. Time for Lunch and Networking - starting at 130 PM at the Cafeteria Eat a little lunch and have a little chat with other Tableau lovers in the town...
