As part of Bonjour India - incubating dreams, ideas and projects which aim to move the partnership between India and France into the future, Kolkata will see the launch of the Zulma Platform at the Apeejay Building from 10th January till 20th January. This is a literary residency programme with Haitian writers and poets Makenzy Orcel and James Noël. The programme is aimed at allowing Francophone authors from around the world (the Caribbean, Africa, Maghreb, America) to discover India in depth through collaborative writing, poetry sessions, book cover design exhibitions and publishing master classes. Between January 11 & 15, the Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival will see James and Makenzy along with Indian poet & editor Sudeep Sen and French author Laure Leroy, bring the burning life of words to the City of Joy. Subsequently, the programme will eventually take place in other cities across India, curated each time by a different French publisher known for its creativity, who will get the opportunity to bring the crème-de-la-crème of its new creations to India.
